Facets of Love

The Griot Museum of Black History welcomes you to join us for "Facets of Love," a celebration and fundraiser in honor of the 75th Birthday of Lois D. Conley, Founder and Executive Director of The Griot Museum.  

As a prelude to the 25th anniversary of The Griot in 2022, The Griot will celebrate the unconventional journey of Ms. Conley that led to the establishment of a much-needed institution, The Griot Museum of Black History. This event will gather museum supporters, family, and patrons to highlight the vision, love, and devotion that Ms. Conley has provided with The Griot as it continues to offer the city of St. Louis a powerful, profound, and enlightening look into the region’s African-American history and cultural heritage. Just as we are excited by the brilliance, light, and color of diamonds released by their facets, we are equally excited to celebrate the many facets of Ms. Conley on the occasion of her 75th birthday. The celebration, “Facets of Love,” will feature music, poetry, tributes, and opportunities to support The Griot, Ms. Conley’s precious gift to the City.

Help us meet our campaign goals!

$75,000, 75 Members, and 75 Volunteers 

The Facets of Love campaign comprises community engagement opportunities to help increase the capacity of The Griot to realize its vision to be the premier resource for African American history and culture in the Midwest. Centered around Ms. Conley’s 75th birthday, this campaign strives to raise a minimum of $75,000, 75 members, and 75 new volunteers in honor of the multifaceted ways we believe The Griot is primed to grow. Your contribution will increase the Griot's capacity to carry out its work to research, preserve and share the stories of Missouri's vibrant African-American heritage.

Giving Levels:

Diamond: $1,000 minimum
This corporate sponsorship level will include your/company name on The Griot’s website, social media posts, celebration signage, program, and official video. It will also provide 5 celebration reservations, prominent recognition at The Griot, and live recognition at the celebration.

Brilliance: $500 minimum
This individual contribution will include your name on the website, prominent recognition at The Griot, 2 celebration reservations, and recognition in celebration video and program.

Carat: $75 minimum

This individual contribution will include your name in the celebration program and website and provides 1 celebration reservation.

Facets: For this individual contribution of any amount less than $75 your name will be included in the celebration program.
